JOB PURPOSE: The Lead Building Attendant is responsible for the direction and oversight of Building Attendants during the absence of the Housekeeping Area Manager. The Lead Building Attendant performs routine and non-routine duties related to the housekeeping operations at the College. This position participates in the set-up and breakdown for special events, moves furniture, and maintains facilities in clean, orderly, and safe conditions. The Lead Building Attendant also performs a variety of cleaning tasks requiring physical fitness, safe working methods, and knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, tools and equipment and how they are safely and effectively used in practice. The Lead Building Attendant assigned to Inventory and Supplies responsibilities ensures that all cleaning materials are picked up, sanitized and delivered to buildings around the campus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to High School Diploma or GED or any equivalent combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and ability.
Licenses/Certificates: A valid drivers license is required or equivalent means of reliable transportation to off-site meetings and events.
Experience: A minimum of 1 year of paid employment experience doing custodial or building maintenance assignments is required. Experience at an academic institution is preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND CRITICAL SKILLS: The Building Attendant must possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to be able to successfully perform the essential functions of the position or be able to demonstrate how the essential functions will be performed.

REQUIRED HOURS: The regular hours for this full-time position are 3:30p.m. 12:00a.m., Monday Friday. Overtime, holiday, weekend and evening work hours will be required. Regular hours may vary due to needs of the College or division.

ADDITIONAL POSITION DETAILS: Regular, full-time, non-exempt. Starting pay rate: $17.69 per hour.
